Programme Details
Since 2003 the award wining School Energy Education Programme (SEEP) has worked with many schools across a number of local authorities to reduce energy consumption in their Schools Estate through the provision of a professional Energy Education Advisor. We have achieved an average of 15% savings per school as well as helped them to gain national awards, certificates and apply for funding.
The School Energy Education Programme can:
- Reduce consumption
- Raise Awareness of environmental issues
- Link to the curriculum
- Align with the DCSF Sustainable Learning Scheme
- Be an excellent mechanism for engaging pupils in a new build or extension of an existing school building.
Our programme follows 7 basic steps and we can tailor activities to the requirements of the schools depending on other initiatives that they maybe already undertaking, such as the Eco-Schools. award scheme. Our flexible approach is popular with schools not only because it is pupil-led but can show compliance in many other areas and enhance the schools image and ethos towards Energy efficiency.
We undertake many different and varied activities for each of the 7 stages, and they are constantly evolving.
Through our flexible approach we can adapt the programme to suit
your requirements.
For example we have also undertaken the following activities for our clients;
- Form an Energy Team
- Conduct an audit
- Monitor consumption
- Curriculum Links
- Raise awareness
- involving Stakeholders through a newsletter
- Press releases and publicity
- Make savings
- Celebration, success and community involvement
